He completed his nephrology fellowship at Stoneybrook University Hospital, where he was Chief Fellow and Vice President of the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC).

Kamran Karimi, MD is a member of the Medical Council of Iran, and both the Iranian American Medical Association and the American Medical Association, as well as the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology.

He completed a surgical residency at The State University of New York, Health Science Center of Brooklyn in Brooklyn, NY, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at Baylor University in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Patetsios is a faculty member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the Jesse E. Thompson Vascular Surgery Society.
