Dr. Jay U. Patel is a board-certified endovascular and interventional radiologist. Dr. Patel and his team provide effective and highly personalized care from the first appointment through recovery.
Dr. Patel has specialized in minimally invasive treatments for a broad range of vascular conditions, and has provided critical maintenance and management of vascular access for dialysis patients, for over 15 years. He is the Medical Director of the Institute for Minimally Invasive Therapies (IMIT) in Atlanta, GA.
Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School/Finch University of Health Science. He completed a residency in surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. While there, he was elected to serve as Chief Resident as well as team physician to the Cincinnati Cyclones IHL Hockey Team. In addition to a diagnostic radiology residency at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY, he completed an endovascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Harvard Medical/Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
After completing his training, Dr. Patel developed and served as the Medical Director of the Interventional Radiology Department at Franciscan Alliance NWI, performing the first cryoablation of a renal tumor in Northwest Indiana and expanding services to include women’s health and interventional oncology.
Dr. Patel has extensive expertise in all modalities of endovascular and interventional radiology and also performs minimally invasive surgical procedures related to maintaining vascular access for hemodialysis procedures.
Dr. Patel is board certified in both interventional radiology as well as diagnostic radiology with the American Board of Radiology and is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, American College of Radiology, American Medical Association, and Indian Medical Association.
